After starting her PhD on the topic of "Psychologists as Practice Owners: Current Challenges, Coping & Success Predictors", Gerda was appalled at the lack of support for allied health professionals going into private practice and decided to do something about it. This was the start of Private Practice Success Australia.

How do I get there?

With plenty of flights into three different airports, quick and reliable shuttle services, a choice of car rentals and an incredible coastline to drive along, getting to Byron Bay is easy whether you’re coming from nearby or as far away as the other side of the world.

You have the following 3 airports to fly into:

Ballina Byron Gateway Airport (airport code BNK): A small regional airport located in Ballina, a 30 minute drive south of Byron Bay.

Gold Coast Airport (airport code OOL): Located in Coolangatta (southern end of the Gold Coast), a 45 minute drive north of Byron Bay.

Brisbane Airport (airport code BNE): The Brisbane Airport is a 1hr 50 minute drive from Byron Bay.

How do I get great coffee?

Forest Restaurant is open from 7:30am to 9:30pm and is located right next to the conference venue. Barista-made coffee is available for purchase.

During the Business Intensive, a tea and coffee station will be available each day at no additional cost from 30 minutes before we begin, and with morning and afternoon tea.

What's the dress code?

Our events are high vibe but relaxed, so pack for comfort and fun.

Welcome Dinner & Networking: Smart casual is perfect for this.

Celebration Dinner & PPS Awards: This is our last night together and we do so in true Private Practice Success style, which means Oodies & Uggs.

What's the weather like?

In August, Byron Bay experiences mild, pleasant winter weather characterized by crisp mornings, sunny days, and low rainfall. The average temperature in Byron Bay in August for a typical day ranges from a high of 20°C to a low of 15°C.

Who can attend?

This event is specifically designed for group private practice owners. Please know that you are very welcome to also bring your Business Partner, Principal Clinician, Practice Manager or any other team member to accompany you to the Private Practice Business Intensive. It is always our goal to empower not only you, but your team, as we work towards building your Self-Running Practice. Please do a separate registration for each person attending. No group discounts, as ticket prices are already set at below market rates for this type of event.

Can I bring my family?

Absolutely! We encourage you to tag a day or two (or even 7) onto the event days so you can bring your significant other and kids and turn this into a full-on family holiday.

Byron Bay is the perfect place for making memories, so why not mix business with a little family time?

Can I join via Zoom?

There’s no live Zoom session. The core sessions will be recorded for upload into the Private Practice Success Academy Members Portal. But here’s the thing:

The biggest breakthroughs don’t happen on Zoom or in a replay. They happen in the white space - over hot chocolate (or cocktails), in hallway conversations, and when one idea from a side chat flips your entire strategy upside down (in the best way), so you’re going to want to make it in person!

Why is the agenda a ‘secret’?

We love to surprise and delight - plus, sometimes we need to shift things around due to spontaneous opportunities. Keeping a little mystery lets us stay flexible and able to deliver an unforgettable experience. That being said, a more detailed agenda with specific topics and speakers will be released closer to the event.

Can I claim CPD for the event?

Most certainly! You will be able to claim 16 hours of active CPD for this event.
